At the suggestion of Virginia Judge MP, and with her assistance, SAL held a fundraising lunch at NSW Parliament House. State Members were encouraged to mix with representatives of the music industry, and the inaugural "Music In The House" Luncheon turned out to be a stirring occasion! Keynote speaker Michael Gudinski was introduced by Premier Morris Iemma. Following a great unplugged performance by Jimmy Barnes, another highlight of the day included Jimmy being honoured as a member of the music industry 'who, by his tireless effort and charitable works, has made a difference and enriched the fabric of the Australian community'. The Perpetual Trophy for this award is now on display at 'the House', and SAL looks forward to adding another name to it when the event is run again this year.
Renee Geyer becomes Patron of Support Act!
To the delight of all, the legendary Renee Geyer has agreed to be the first Patron of Support Act. It is wonderful to have the backing of this great artist, who has been on a very nice journey of success with her latest album TONIGHT. As a hard working musician, Renee recognises the difficulties of life in the industry, and the challenges of trying to make a living in this scene. it's a path followed only by those who put art above income, and have the courage to fly by the seat of their pants in pursuit of that cause!

Read more on Page 3 about the way in which Renee has already helped Support Act.
