Support Act is a growing concern!

SALVIC - Support Act Victoria, is headed by President Bob Valentine. He has successfully gathered a small group of dedicated volunteers who are working to introduce the good work done by Sydney based SAL to the Victorian music family.

Bob says 'the music industry does too little to help its own, and the Government cares about us less, so, we need to look after our own. [We want to] get working on fund-raising to help less fortunate colleagues, not forgetting that one day it could be you.'

Interest has been coming from all corners of Australia - with enquiries about a local branch in WA, and great industry support from the big music retailers' body the AMA, who donated approximately $10,000 raised during their annual Conference dinner.

It's worth saluting the Chair of SAL (throughout its existence!) - Meryl Gross, as well as remembering the founding bodies that came on board to embrace an idea originally floated by Publisher John Bromell. Which organisations were they?
ARIA, APRA/AMCOS and PPCA!
