Jack Daniel’s is continuing to support the strength and growth of the Australia live music scene through The JD Set. Giving music fans across the country the opportunity to experience some of the best and freshest live talent that Australia has to offer!
A key element of The JD Set will be involvement with Support Act Limited (SAL) Australia’s Music Industry Benevolent Fund which provides relief and assistance to members of the Australian music industry in need or suffering hardship.
The JD Set (www.thejdset.com.au) is HOT this year! Two tours in with headliners You Am I and Faker respectively and the gigs just keep getting better! Round 3 will be the biggest yet with THE PANICS taking centre stage. Get voting because this is an amazing tour to be on for two lucky support bands.
The first tour included Whyalla, the second tour stopped off in Townsville and for the third time around they will be dropping into home state of THE PANICS, visiting Perth and Busselton. The JD Set is a huge opportunity for bands to showcase their music in front of thousands of fans and music lovers.Round 3 sees folk singer-songwriters GILROY & THE COLD SHOULDERS from the state of the moment, West Australia, take on Victoria’s country alternative MATHESON and indie kids MIRROR HOUSE ANTICS, while New South Wales popsters SLOW DOWN HONEY fight it out with Queenslanders THE BLOODPOETS and another Victorian band, melodic duo, THE DOWLINGS!
The two bands with the most votes will get the chance to hit the road in September with the epic, ethereal, effervescent THE PANICS! Although the 5-piece were born and raised in Perth, musically their sound is intrinsically rooted to the northwest of England. They were first spotted and signed by The Happy Mondays’ drummer Gaz Whelan, who took them over to Manchester.
Voting kicks off Monday 17 August at www.thejdset.com.au and runs until Sunday 30 August. Again Jack Daniel’s has taken care of its audience and made all dates 100% door charge free!
Voters also get automatically entered into the draw to score a VIP gig experience on The JD Set tour, with flights to their choice of gig, a room in the band's hotel and a meet & greet with the headliners. This round they have added in a little extra as there will be 6 free downloads for the voting period (1 from each potential support) available from the website.
